About Me

I grew up in Pedregal Grande, a small rural community outside Catacaos in northern Peru. That origin is part of why I do what I do.
Hello! I am Luis Valverde Ramos, a Political Scientist from Catacaos, Piura, graduated with distinction from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), with an exchange semester at Ghent University, Belgium. I combine political science training with advanced quantitative analysis, large-scale data processing, and evidence production for public policy and communication strategy — collaborating with government agencies, research centers, and the private sector across multidisciplinary teams.
Beyond My Work
I am an active participant in Peru’s competitive debate community — National Interuniversity Debate Champion (2025) and Semifinalist at the Campeonato Mundial Universitario de Debate en Español in Madrid (2022). I currently coach the Peruvian national school debate team ahead of the Mundial de Debate Escolar in Panama, and train university debaters from Peru and the Dominican Republic in British Parliamentary format. I believe that communicating well is as important as thinking well. Outside of work, I practice Muay Thai.
Current Interests
I am self-driven in my learning — currently deepening my skills in applied statistics and machine learning, exploring macroeconomics and human behavior as frameworks for understanding why people and institutions act the way they do. I also bring these interests into my debate coaching, helping students engage with data and evidence-based reasoning as part of their argumentative practice.
